Are you ready? Santa is coming.

Our guild had a sewing class and Elizabeth showed us how to make this YoYo Santa.  I still have
to put on his cheery checks.  The hardest thing about making this was making the Yo Yo's.

I think I will keep this one for myself.

I did get into my sewing room , clean , sort and dust. Everyone needs to do that once in a while.  I found things I didn't know I had.  And unfinished projects.  no comment..............

I need to get into my green house and do the same thing.  Move plants in there.  I do have my lemon tree in there already.  I do love freshly fallen pine straw.  I love to mulch all of my beds.  But will my back let me rake?  And will the chipmunk move out that has taken up residence in my greenhouse?

I am just taking things day by day, to tell you the truth this is not my favorite time of year.
I could do without the holidays. Just saying.................. My world is not good this time of year.

Since I last Blogged.......................

I am a year older, a lot of sewing has been done.  So I thought I would come up for air and be sociable.  I love sewing for charity but I will be glad to be sewing for me.
But I have to stop and think that the sewing I have done will allow someone to have a better life in some small way.

So if you are in the neighbor hood please stop by and have some apple cider and browse through our items.  We have some talented ladies in our guild.  Maybe
pickup a Christmas present or two.

We will be selling tickets on a raffle quilt.
All the proceeds going to local charities.  Any one would to be glad to own this quilt.

This is the raffle quilt shown at guild.  It is not finished in this picture but since it has been quilted and is beautiful.  It is named Day and Night.   Everyone of the guild members made and donated  block or 2 to make this beauty.

One of our guild members set up a web site for our Guild, please stop by and check it out   cottonbollquilters.weebly.com.  Mike did such a good job.

If you stop by and leave a comment on my blog, please give me a way to contact you back.

A very Special Day......11-11-11

A very special day.  Today is my Birthday. When I say my age really fast it doesn't sound so bad.
Mr. Baboo came in with a dozen Yellow Roses, a sweet card and a smile.

What did I ever do to deserve this man?  Then he took me to eat and then shopping.  A very special
day. We have always shared this day.  My husband of 44 years is a Viet Nam Veteran. If you remember that war wasn't very popular.  He is a hero in my eyes and it is really his special day.
I was so blessed to get him home in one piece.  At the Airport when he came back home he was in his Uniform looking so good to me, a fine citizen spit on him and his medals I will never forget that day.
We all must never forget what all of those fine men and women that serve give for our country.
GOD Bless all of them and their families.
Some time in our day please take a moment of silence and think of what our world would be like
without the ones that serve.

Having fun in a sewing class............

Two of our Guild members taught us a really fun project.  We had about 15 to 20 in the class.   We always have a good time together.  We made a hanging Santa Claus with lots of YoYo's and jingle bells.  No one said I was the sharpest tool in the shed ( I forgot to take a picture of the project). DUH !
I got so carried away with all of the smiling faces.

My good buddy and Bee sister Dona, love that smile.

Helen my buddy and Bee sister making her Yo Yo's. She is the one who gets us all together.  She really is dedicated to quilting and our guild.

Carol flashing a smile and hard at work.

Chelsey our  newer quilter.   She does such a good job and out sews everyone. I love it when
younger ladies show an interest in quilting. She is such a joy to be around.

Debra a friend and Bee sister. She made the best cake pops for us.  Wish I had taken a picture
before we ate them all.

Robin smiling as she worked. Her and Chelsey finished first.  We had a good laugh and said we just knew that they cheated.

When I get my project done I will post it.  The best thing about quilting is getting together with
others who you have a lot in common with. Give us a chance and we could change this troubled World stitch by stitch..........

Halloween at my house...........

Give candy and no one will get hurt.  Because of my long driveway I don't many trick or treaters. I get 2, my neighbors.  I fix up 2 big special bags for them.

A zombie and Cake Boss, what a mix.  I love these kids.

Now this guy isn't in costume.  He comes from next door also.  He come to see me everyday.
He knocks on the door comes in and puts his head on my lap.  When I was so sick he would come and keep me company.  I feel a special bond with this dog.  His name is Samson and weights 110 lbs
and growing. Nothing like the face of a Golden Lab. He is 110 lb ball of love.  He also loves my Lola who weighs 4 lbs.

Ahhhhh....Can it workout?  He makes poop bigger than her....lol
