In Honor of my Cotton

I found an old camera.  It still had pictures I had not off loaded. I ran across this picture.  My Cotton , the
sweetest Pomeranian ever. He looked like a big ole ball of cotton.  I lost him to heart problems 2 years ago.
He loved to stretch out and  get his belly cool.   He looked like a lizard.  He was my heart for 10 years. What a wonderful find.  But I didn't need tears today...........................
This is what the pile of fabric turned out to be. Don't know if you can see the Bees on the fabric. It is so cute.
Aprons are so easy and a fun gift. When ever our guild has an auction or sale they sale like hot cakes.
Do you wear an apron when you cook?
Well I just cut out a project.  Looks like a hot Mess huh????  Can you guess what it is?  Do you like the Bee fabric?  Wont take me long to put it together. I'm making this for a friend. I'll post later when I finish.

Comfort and Joy

My first block of Comfort and Joy. I need to go button shopping, several places I need to add buttons.  The
applique wasn't as scary as I thought it would be.  I received the next block yesterday.  So I'll be working on that this weekend.
But also this weekend I will be planting a veggie garden.  Cant wait for fresh tomatoes and cucumbers.  I also love to can pickles and preserves.

Fabric thief

My Lola.......she loves my scrap box.  Sometimes that is her favorite place to sleep.   I just love when I go to different blogs and see everyones pets.  Seems like everyone that sews has a cat or dog.

Bee Meeting

It was our Bee meeting yesterday.  One of the girls in our group when it is her month she loves to give a Tea.
It is over the top. She cooks scones and all different kind of goodies.  We were met at the door with a Mimosa.  We celebrated 2 Birthdays.  What a great day that we had.  One of the girls made us all a tea towel. The pictures doesn't do it justice. She machine appliqued and added cute Bee buttons.  I love my Bee sisters.

Only one Star

This is for for Just one Star for Moda.  A cause that is close to my heart.  My husband is a Vet.  He served
in Viet Nam.  Wish I had time to make more, but what I have seen on blogs Moda will have plenty.  I hope
every soldier gets a beautiful quilt.   I had a heck of a time to find a brown permanent pen.

I have to let off some steam even if nobody reads this or not.  Had a bone scan today.  My health history is awful.   I have had Rheumatoid Arthritis for 32 years.  Bad knees, one replaced, both feet reconstructed and years of meds.  Well doctor said my bone scan showed that my hips are in bad shape and that calls for
more meds which I dont know that I can take with what I'm taking now.  Please GOD please, give me hope.
I hope and pray my Liver will make it as long as I do.

Question ?????

If someone stops by, please answer a question for me.  I am new to blogging and am not very tech smart.
How in the world do you take someones button.  I see buttons I would love to move to my page but I don't know how to.  Please take pity on me.  Thanks in advance.

From my backyard

This is a native Georgia Orchid.  It never fails to come up every year.  It spreads, I have about 6 now.  The
best things to plant in your yard is plants that are native. The plants around it is Solomon seals. Can't see them very well.
The days have been so nice the last couple of days.  So hard to stay in the sewing room.  But the last couple of weeks I have gotten a lot of things I have had to do, gone.  That's pretty good being that I was in a wheel chair not long ago and learning how to walk again.  ( long story)  I am so blessed that I can sit in my chair at my sewing machine and sew for as long as I want to now.
Any way here is a baby quilt I did yesterday and finished binding today.  It will go to charity.
My husband and I got my garden in the back yard almost back in shape.  It went neglected for almost 2 years.  It looks loved again.

Comfort and Joy Block of the Month from Sweet Home Quilt Company

I have really enjoyed working on this.  I have never done a BOM before.  By Christmas I should have a really nice quilt.  I am on the 3rd month.  The first 2 months were making blocks, nine patches, flying geese, log cabins and half square triangles.  The 3rd month I start applique.  I havent done much applique so I am going to give it a try.  Also making your own bias tape is so making me nervous.  But again I will tackle it.
I will post pictures of my progress.  Sweet Home Quilt Company is in Conyers, Ga. The pattern is done by
Silver Thimbles.  So fun...............
I finally finished our Presidents block.  Will go into a quilt that will be presented to the President of our guild.
I dont think she knows that I have a blog, so I dont think she will see it.  Now that is a big block!!!!!

Idea that helps me

If I have a pattern that I have to follow closely,  I use a book holder.  You know the kind you use in your
kitchen to hold cookbooks.  It holds Sheets patterns or books. Just saying might help someone.

Whats on my design wall.

I took a class on making this quilt, Criss Cross.  I love this pattern.  Nice to do something simple after working on quilts that make you think. I put a 1 1/2 inch first border and then a 4 inch border of off white,
Hard to see on the disign wall.  It measures  67 X 58 1/2.  I have no idea how I am going to quilt this one. I thought about some echo quilting.  Any suggestions?  My camera doent show the deep rich color of the reds.
I think a new camera is in order.
Everyone have a good day !

Still working on my blog.

I am still trying to get things added to my blog and add pictures.  I really enjoy seeing every ones blog with pictures of their pets and quilts.
My last post was about going to class.  Boy did we have fun.  Made Cross Over blocks. I love any quilt class I can take and learn something.  I have been quilting about 8 years I learn something new everyday.
My taste in fabric has changed over and over.  I started out traditional and that didn't last long.
I have finished my Civil War quilt and it is at the quilters.
We have 2 more months before our guild stops for the summer,I'm looking forward to that.  I hope to
get ahead a little.  I'm ready to do some seasonal sewing.
Every ones Easter quilting is so pretty.
Well wish me luck with adding pictures and improving my blog site.
I'll get it done stitch by stitch..................

I will have to learn how to post pictures.  I'm working on a Civil War quilt I would like to show.
Hope I'll be posting some pictures soon.

What a good Monday.............

It is a good Monday when you make a run to the fabric store, find everything on your list and get a bucket
of fried chicken on the same day.  My husband is a Prince.  Trying so hard to get caught up in my sewing room, which is a silly statement.  Like housework you never get caught up.  Soooooo before I can even
allow myself in the sewing room I have to do some chores.  What a drag.  But I have my ducks in a row
and that gives me encouragement.  Working on a challenge quilt, Journey of Hope quilt, birthday blocks,
Civil War quilt.  Also a BOM  from Sweet Home Quilt company ( Comfort and Joy).  I'm taking a class for a cross over quilt tomorrow night, something new for me.
I really what to do some stars for the the Quilt of Valor for Moda.  Hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew.

Beautiful day in Georgia

Took my dog for a walk and pulled some weeds.  But we have rain coming and that calls for a day to sew.
I;m working on a Civil War quilt, birthday blocks for my Bee  quilts for Journey of Hope and things for my Guild.  So I welcome rainy days.
I have been reading the quilting blogs and love it.  I am new to the blogging world, so I;m still trying to set up my page and understand it all.
